Those Damn Yankees, I mean Mets

Well on a beautiful Saturday (23 September) afternoon for baseball the New York Mets - Current National League East Division Champs beat the stuffing out of my loveable losing Washington Nationals 12 - 6. Not only that but it was a come-back from behind game, until the bottom of the 5th inning the Nationals were ahead 4 - 0. That is when the Mets pulled ahead 6 - 4. To make matters worse during the bottom of the 8th with only one out disaster struck. While going for a pop-up fly First Baseman Nick Johnson and Right Fielder Austin Kearns collided. Kearns was able to get up after a few moments, but unfortunately Johnson was in major pain and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher suffering from a broken right leg. UGH! This after him being healthy all season and looking like he'd have his first season off the injured list. Double Ugh! A few plays latter Super Rookie Third Baseman Ryan Zimmerman made a spectacular catch of a foul ball landing in the stands. The Mets managed to get a few more runs bringing their total to 12, while the Nationals only managed to get 1 more run in the top of the 9th making the final score 12 - 6.
