Name Game Misspelling

ACK! Another round of my name being butchered misspelled at a food place by the cashier. The same place as some of these other wonderful weird misspellings of my name. This time there really should have been no problem. When I said my name, I saw the cashier was a little confused, so I said my name again and spelled it out K-I-R-K I thought the guy/kid/whatever was getting it, but NO. This is the name that the receipt had: Kart. Again I thought I had seen an heard all the variants that my name can give. Guess Not.

Wish This Was Still Around

Hmm I thought I had blogged about this a few years back, guess I didn't. Anyway in the late 1990s maybe early 2000s Dr. Pepper came out with some wacky new flavors, Cherry Vanilla, Berrys & Cream, plus something called Red Fusion. It was colored red and had a sharp cherry flavor like a Cherry Smash. It was good. I wish they still made it, but I don't think they do.

I forget how widespread it was distributed. I know it was distributed in the 20oz. plastic bottles and probably cans. I noticed online it was in cans and also 2liter bottles in addition to the 20oz bottle.

I recall one time when I purchased a bottle or two of the Red Fusion, I got a bum plastic cap that would not come off in the normal way. I think I eventually had to cut the seal carefully with an exacto knife to separate the cap from the sealing ring. I eventually got the thing opened. This happened to me a couple of times and over the years it still happens on occasion usually on Dr. Pepper products. The second time it happened to me on a Red Fusion I wrote (or did I email?) a message to the Dr. Pepper folks about the problem and in return they sent me two coupons for one Free 20oz. bottle of Red Fusion that I never got around to using. Now the coupons are a pretty neat nostalgic collectible for me.

As you can see the coupons expired at the end of 2003. Got to remember to bring them along the next time I go time-traveling to that past.

Whats In a Name?

A few months back I was at one of those food places where when you place your order they ask for your name, instead of giving you an order number. I guess to make things seem more personal. Anyway once again the cashier misspelled my name. This time it was "CURK". I think I have seen it before not 100% sure though. I thought I would add it to these misspelling rant posts I do every once in a while. This time it didn't drive me batty. Sometimes they do. I guess I'm mellowing with age since a big birthday is coming up soon.

Update: Got another "xURK" this time it was "KURK" closer but no cigar.

Myka Monday: Kiss And Makeup

Yes it has been a few months since we've had one of these things. Well after making out up, Myka and I now have an unofficial understanding about this whole Myka Monday Mess I got us into.

Myka Mondays will not be as regular as they once were. They will be more random and only just every once in a while. A sort of Myka with benefits. If I ever get back around to my reviewing of episodes again they might also appear on a Monday before a "Warehouse 13 Wednesday". That is a very big IF. Myka is pretty cool with this, unless I crack a Pete type joke/pun, then she is So outta here.

2014 Totals

I usually do this around New Years but I have been lethargic on many things lately and the blog has suffered some for it. Anyway here is the month by month totals for 2014:

Monthly Average: 4.75

Again I passed the yearly goal of 32 posts per year but as you can see the last few months I've been dragging my feet. I want to improve on this but I don't know if I will. Anyway lets look at how 2014 matches up with past years:

Yearly Average: 41.22 

With 2014 being slightly above average and 2013 being such a huge year the yearly average is now 41 posts per year. Even though 2014 slacked in the last 5 months. Oh well whatever.

Well it is that time of year again where we say goodbye to one year and hello to another.

I'm too lazy to do my year end post counting thing right now, not sure when I'll get around to it. The last 3 months or so I have been very lazy and very lackadaisical about my blogging.

Self appointed posting quota Obligatory November post

EEK! It is the last day of November and I haven't made a post on this blog until just now. UGH last month I missed posting on my Curly W Cards blog this would be two months in a row for that blog if I don't do something. My other card blog I had a contest that I haven't posted the results of yet. Double UGH and ACK!

Now if I don't come up with something to post in the next few hours I won't have anything for any of the blogs. Wait I have this post explaining my personal goal of posting at least one post per month here, and hopefully on my two card blogs.
