2025 - 3
Yearly Average: 28.25

Another RED year yippie.

So yeah very little blogging this past year just the bare bones. I think this is the last year that I will do the average totals. I might do a "State O' The Blog" at the end of 2026 but I don't think I'll do the average posts totals as that ties in with the keeping up with my quota counting.

State O' The Blog: 2024 Recap

STATE O' THE BLOG
2024 Edition

2024 was a year of very low blog activity which the numbers reflect and at the bottom I will mention the major causes.

Here are the monthlies from 2024:

January: 2
February: 2
March: 0
April: 0
May: 1
June: 0
July: 0
August: 0
September: 0
October: 2
November: 0
December: 1

TOTAL: 8
Monthly Average: 0.67

Now lets look at how the 2024 blogging matches up with past years:

2006 - 32
2007 - 43
2008 - 36
2009 - 34
2010 - 18
2011 - 20
2012 - 38
2013 - 93
2014 - 57
2015 - 24
2016 - 29
2017 - 16
2018 - 18
2019 - 12
2020 - 17
2021 - 33
2022 - 14
2023 - 14
2024 - 8
Yearly Average: 29.26

Another RED year yippie.

This year had some lows. The kind of lows I don't like to talk about when they are happening and I don't want those "Sorry to hear that" pity replies from everybody while I'm experiencing them. Stuff happens and you roll with it. Some stuff you accept other stuff you try to fight but in the end stuff happens.

Late March I had some excruciating back pain, so much that I went to the hospital to get my back checked out. I do have Scoliosis (curvature of the spine). I think it was being irritated by adjusting to a months old toe wound on my right big toe that thanks to my diabetes was not healing. The toe wound was infected down to the bone and the first tendon of the big toe. So bye bye right big toe. Hospital stay was 2 weeks then I went on to rehab for what would be a total of 6 months at two separate facilities, a regular retirement home and then an assisted living center before getting to go home. It is at a time like that where being single without a live-in partner to be a health care provider sucks. Family is either too far away or in the case of family that was close by they were in the process of getting ready for a move, which oddly wouldn't get done until closer to end of this year.

The other bad setback for this year was early December I got into a car accident, fortunately I wasn't injured but my car was totaled. I am in process of getting a newused car estimated arrival 02 January. When I had gotten out of rehab I had to have my car in the shop because it hadn't been running for 6 months, the battery was drained and some rats had gotten into some of the engine wiring. So yeah didn't have much time with the car this year.

As for my Ebay I only sold 1 item early Dec a sports card. I thought I had sold a couple of other things, but those were sold near the end of last year. Meanwhile over at COMC (Check Out My Cards) I had a record number of yearly sales there. I will put the details for those on my card blog sometime soon hopefully.

Yearly Average: 30.44

Another RED year yippie.

As for my trading card blogs CaptKirk42's Trading Card Blog and Curly W Cards I missed posting in November for them. In years past I would have been very upset with myself for missing a month, but now I really don't care. If I stopped blogging completely I just wouldn't care any more.

Yearly Average: 29.12

Another RED year yippie.

As for my trading card blogs CaptKirk42's Trading Card Blog I managed to go 15 posts and Curly W Cards I only did the bare bones 12 posts for the year. For those blogs my posting quota is to make at least the bare minimum of 1 post per month, 12 posts per year. For this blog my posting goal is a lofty 32 posts in the year with the minimum of 1 post per month, 12 for the year.

State Of The Blog: 2021 Recap

STATE O' THE BLOG
2021 Edition

This year my "State O' The Blog" year in review post is a few days and about a week late. Because I really a lazy SOB. OK So for the 2021 blogging tally OH MY I  MADE THE QUOTA! Thanks to doing a huge bunch of Album Reviews that I had originally posted on Rate Your Music on a weekly basis. Yes that brings up the yearly average and makes me happier.

Here are the monthlies from 2021:

January: 2
February: 1
March: 5
April: 5
May: 6
June: 4
July: 4
August: 2
September: 1
October: 1
November: 1
December: 1

TOTAL: 33
Monthly Average: 2.75

This breaks the 6 year losing streak.

Now lets look at how the 2021 blogging matches up with past years:

2006 - 32
2007 - 43
2008 - 36
2009 - 34
2010 - 18
2011 - 20
2012 - 38
2013 - 93
2014 - 57
2015 - 24
2016 - 29
2017 - 16
2018 - 18
2019 - 12
2020 - 17
2021 - 33
Yearly Average: 43.33

What a relief.

As for my trading card blogs (CaptKirk42's Trading Card Blog and Curly W Cards) both of them I only did the bare 1 post per month minimum so they both only have 12 posts for the year 2021 just like for 2020. For those my only posting goal is to make at least the bare minimum of 1 post per month, 12 posts per year.

State of The Blog: 2019 Recap

STATE O THE BLOG
2019 Edition

2019 maintains the failing Red years in my annual State of The Blog tally. Did that really surprise anyone?

Here are the monthlies from 2019:

January: 1
February: 1
March: 1
April: 1
May: 1
June: 1
July: 1
August: 1
September: 1
October: 1
November: 1
December: 1

TOTAL: 12
Monthly Average: 1

No real surprise I FAILED my yearly goal of 32 posts per year. That is now 5 years in a row. FIVE, FIVE!

Now lets look at how the 2019 blogging matches up with past years:

2006 - 32
2007 - 43
2008 - 36
2009 - 34
2010 - 18
2011 - 20
2012 - 38
2013 - 93
2014 - 57
2015 - 24
2016 - 29
2017 - 16
2018 - 18
2019 - 12
Yearly Average: 33.57

Yet again I am barely keeping up with my bare bones minimum of one post per month. My first year of blogging 2006 met and set my self-appointed blogging quota of 32 posts per year. My all-time high was in 2013 with 93 posts. This year was my all-time low and lowest possible. The yearly average is still getting worse and worse.

State Of The Blog: 2018 Recap

STATE O THE BLOG
2018 Edition

2018 maintains the failing Red years in my annual State of The Blog tally.

Here are the monthlies from 2018:

January: 1
February: 1
March: 1
April: 1
May: 3
June: 2
July: 1
August: 1
September: 2
October: 1
November: 1
December: 3

TOTAL: 18
Monthly Average: 1.5

No real surprise I FAILED my yearly goal of 32 posts per year. That is three four years in a row now.
Now lets look at how the 2018 blogging matches up with past years:

2006 - 32
2007 - 43
2008 - 36
2009 - 34
2010 - 18
2011 - 20
2012 - 38
2013 - 93
2014 - 57
2015 - 24
2016 - 29
2017 - 16
2018 - 18
Yearly Average: 35.23

Yet again I am barely keeping up with my bare bones minimum of one post per month. My first year of blogging 2006 met and set my self-appointed blogging quota of 32 posts per year. My all-time high was in 2013 with 93 posts. That was in part due to some semi-regular post series FryDay Fourtoon and Myka Monday. I somehow managed to keep up with posting and had more motivation to blog that year. I need to recapture that motivation. At one point I felt that I was going to reach 100 posts that year. Some year maybe. This year was almost my all-time low, but that was last year 2017 with a lowly 16 posts. This year is tied with 2010 at 18. The fourth year in a row for underachieving and tied at second worst out of six failing years. The yearly average is slowly getting worse and worse.

State Of The Blog: 2017 Recap

STATE OF THE BLOG
2017 Edition

2017 Joins last year and the year before in the growing number of Republican Red years in my annual State of The Blog tally.

Here are the monthlies from 2017:

January: 1
February: 1
March: 1
April: 1
May: 1
June: 1
July: 3
August: 1
September: 1
October: 1
November: 2
December: 1

TOTAL: 16
Monthly Average: 1.33

Yet again this past year I FAILED my yearly goal of 32 posts per year. That is three years in a row.
Now lets look at how the 2017 blogging matches up with past years:

2006 - 32
2007 - 43
2008 - 36
2009 - 34
2010 - 18
2011 - 20
2012 - 38
2013 - 93
2014 - 57
2015 - 24
2016 - 29
2017 - 16
Yearly Average: 36.66

Sigh - The LOWEST year to date. I am barely keeping up with my bare bones minimum of one post per month. If the current trend keeps though even that will get more and more difficult to achieve.

Blogging: Lack Of Motivation Mind Blank

This is sort of a blogging rant to myself for being so unproductive on the blog front for the last several months. Maybe even for the last several years.

Anyone who reads this blog on a regular basis will have noticed that for quite sometime now I have barely been keeping up with my blogging here on my self appointed 1 post a month quota. My last few annual "State of The Blog" year end posts and occasional in-year updates have shown my lack of activity here. Sometimes I have the dreaded writer's block and can't come up with something interesting. Ironically I do have 6 or 7 in process posts in my draft queue. Those drafts include a couple of book reviews and a DVD review or two. For the most part my reasons for not publishing some of those is either I haven't chosen a quote for the review or I haven't scanned the cover of the DVD or Book, or I haven't gotten past the initial setting up the page for the review.

I sort of tossed around the idea of just abandoning this blog, or going into a blogging hiatus. I do after all have two trading card blogs that I have the same 1 post a month personal quota for. I really hate going a month without a post for any of my blogs. This blog seems to be the most difficult to come up with stuff for of the three. I guess my regular life is just that dull and routine.

I do occasionally have ideas for posts to do. Some of those ideas I have written down a few keywords for the idea, or the basic synopsis of the idea. I just haven't gotten around to putting "pen to paper" or rather formatted text saved into binary code on computer data storage drive.

State Of The Blog: 2016 Recap

State of The Blog
2016 Edition

It looks like for 2016 yet again I DID NOT meet my minimum posting quota for blogging. Lets see how I did anyway:

January: 3
February: 2
March: 1
April: 3
May: 1
June: 1
July: 1
August: 3
September: 5
October: 4
November: 4
December: 1

TOTAL: 29
Monthly Average: 2.42

Again this year I FAILED the yearly goal of 32 posts per year. That is two years in a row.

Now lets look at how the 2016 blogging matches up with past years:

2006 - 32
2007 - 43
2008 - 36
2009 - 34
2010 - 18
2011 - 20
2012 - 38
2013 - 93
2014 - 57
2015 - 24
2016 - 29
Yearly Average: 38.55

2016 brings the yearly average from 39.50  down to 38.55 a 1 post drop per year. Not as bad as last years almost 2 post drop.

I hope to improve on my blogging this year in 2017. I'm already close to my monthly average with this being the 2nd post of the year. OK so these New Year/Year End posts for this year 2017 I semi-planed and scheduled them. I had to keep them semi-automatic due to not knowing the exact year end total until I was sure I wasn't going to post anymore for 2016. The new format for the blogger dashboard has made this process less user friendly than in years past.

State Of The Blog: 2015 Recap

State of The Blog
2015 Edition

As I sort of detected and suspected about halfway through the year this past year 2015 I DID NOT meet my minimum posting quota for blogging. Lets see how I did anyway:

January: 1
February: 1
March: 5
April: 1
May: 3
June: 5
July: 3
August: 1
September: 1
October: 1
November: 1
December: 1

TOTAL: 24
Monthly Average: 2

This year I FAILED the yearly goal of 32 posts per year. That is the 3rd time in 10 years, but it had been 4 years since the last time, and this failure was the "best" of the "worst". There were several factors this year, the regular procrastinating. Not concentrating on What to blog about. Plus early on I was concentrating on trying to meet my book reading goal of a minimum of 20 books for the year. I beat that one by one book and am currently about 20% through what would have been book #22 but will officially be counted as book one for 2016 since that was the year I Finished it not started it.

Now lets look at how the 2015 blogging matches up with past years:

2006 - 32
2007 - 43
2008 - 36
2009 - 34
2010 - 18
2011 - 20
2012 - 38
2013 - 93
2014 - 57
2015 - 24

Yearly Average: 39.50

2015 brings the yearly average from 41.22 down to 39.50 an almost 2 post drop per year. The monthly average in 2015 was only 2 instead of the 2.6? to meet the yearly goal. So all in all it wasn't THAT bad, but it still hurts. I is like an NFL team going 6-10 instead of breaking even at 8-8. Not terrible but still a losing season.

I hope to improve on my blogging this year in 2016.

First Words of 2009!

It's a brand new Year so lets get going with it and hit the ground running. I usually send out an email near the New Year that gives my Year In Review. I am not sending out that email this year. I end up adding it to my website anyway so that is what I will do from now on. I think I will make monthly updates to it and just post the updated version as I go on the website. Of course I need to make sure I can still update my old site. It seems they might have changed the way files get uploaded to the site so I'll have to play with things to see if I can still make changes if not I'm SOL.

Me being Goofy (Circa 1993)

I will not make any New Year's Resolution, because I don't make those. Why make an outrageous promise that you might not be able to keep. Also who checks at the end of the year to see if you kept your resolution. Who remembers the resolution they made? EXACTLY!

Last Words of 2008!

OK so here we are at the very tail end of the year 2008. Two-Thousand and Eight Years since the last transition of how man keeps track of his own made concept Time. Well really something like 2053 years the calendar has been used (See Julian lendar). If your Jewish it's still 5769 So Party On! You've got plenty of the year left! This past year has been pretty good to me for the most part. I'll have some of the boring details on my website Nesredna's Knook on my Year In Review page(s) there. I should have it updated in a few days or so.

RANDOM PICTURE:

So Happy New Year all 4 or 5 (if that many) of you who read this silly Blog. I've been in shows with some of you, I've laughed with some of you, I may have cried with one or two of you, and one of you I might have... well never mind that I'll just edit this bit later. LOL!
