Word Verification Fun 002
countiat 312

As my semi-regular one or two readers might have noticed I am trying to make this a semi-regular feature. It is, however, dependent on me finding and stumbling onto letter combinations that make an interesting word to me.

The word this time is "Countiat" which immediately made me think of Count Von Count the Muppet from Sesame Street who is overly obsessed with counting everything he encounters "ah ah ah"; AND the AT-ATs from the Star Wars films (first appearance in Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back), those camel/elephant looking machines that couldn't be destroyed by regular laser blaster fire but could be tripped up by tow cables.

OR

It is a new car by Lamborghini the new 2014 Conuntiat 312. Two models are available the wheeled ATV edition at geekologie.com and the walker edition below (show with custom ordered extension legs, standard walker edition is 1/2 as tall) :

Note: Sesame Street is a trademark of the Sesame Workshop (Formerly known as Children's Television Workshop). The Muppets are part of The Muppets Studio, LLC a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. Star Wars and AT-AT walkers are copyrights of Lucas Arts which is now part of The Walt Disney Company.

Anniversary Time: Fryday Fourtoon

 Fryday Fourtoon Furst Annieversary

In celebration of the First Anniversary of my First Fryday Fourtoon post I am reposting that first fortune, but with the lottery numbers added from a more recent repeat of this very same fortune. I didn't think to post the lottery numbers that first time because I was just thinking about posting the spelling error I had found in a fortune cookie fortune. Well recently I got the misprint again. Even more recently (about a week ago) I got a fortune cookie with NO fortune and also I have gotten broken cookies before. If the cookie with no fortune had been broken I would have been a little upset. :(

CSI Second Crossover Event

CSI - CSI:NY
CSI FRANCHISE CROSS-OVER EVENT
February 2013

The CSI Franchise shows recently had a second Cross-Over Event. Technically they had had a few other crossover episodes before that blockbuster event but that was the first one to go across ALL The shows in the franchise not just two (mostly to jump start a new series). Since there are only two shows now, the Original CSI set in Las Vegas and CSI: New York, it was more manageable and in my opinion more enjoyable than the three parter they had back in 2009. Was it that long ago? Of course once again they only had the main star(s) Cross Over. This time at least Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) got to go to Vegas. If I recall correctly, the Trilogy from '09 only had the then Main Vegas CSI Dr. Raymond Langston (Laurence Fishburne) traveling through all three of the shows. [CSI: Miami was cancelled last year.] I had taped the trilogy x-over, I didn't tape this one. Yes I still have a VCR I haven't broken down and joined the 20teens by getting a DVR. I almost don't really need one. Plus it has been ages though since I've gotten a "new" tape so I will have to go through my old tapes sometime and decide what to tape over. It is difficult to find blanks now-days.

Here is my sort of mini-review of this cross-over.

WARNING: This Review contains spoilers.

CSI - Episode 1: In Vino Veritas
To get this party started we attend a fancy black tie private invitation only High Quality wine auction in Vegas (or just outside). Lots of fancy dresses and pretty women barely wearing those fancy dresses. A group of men discuss some sort of private deal and go to the wine cellar. Cut to some young men in an alley shooting at a wooden wine barrel. Oops that's blood. The CSI team discovers a pickled person in a tux in the barrel. Meanwhile at CSI Crime Lab Vegas Detective Mac Taylor (Sinise) is in town and is scheduled to meet up with his girlfriend Christine later. She is supposed to be in Vegas to meet up with a potential restaurant owner who plans on opening a restaurant like hers. Crime Lab Boss D.B. Russell shows Mac around and then goes with him to meet with Christine. They arrive at her hotel room to discover a crime scene with blood and no Christine. As they piece the mystery together they discover that an eccentric wine connoisseur is counterfeiting super valuable fine wines. A botched jewellery store robbery uncovers Christine's cell phone, blood from an unknown female suspect at the scene matches blood from the hotel crime scene. The crime lab tracks down the wine counterfeiters, and the killer who stuffed the victim into the wine barrel. They find the jewellery store robber, who is also suspected of kidnapping Christine. He is Christine's co-worker but he isn't her kidnapper. He has to hand over the stolen diamonds to the real kidnappers, whom he owes a large sum of money to, or they will kill Christine and his brother in 24 hours. The snag is Christine never left New York.  Mac has no choice but to take the robber back to New York with the stolen Diamonds to make the trade for Christine. D.B. tells Mac that he isn't going to stop him, but that he will need his help in doing it. So "To Be Continued..." In New York.

CSI: NY - Episode 2: Seth and Apep
Mac and D.B. arrive in New York and get to work to arrange the exchange. The kidnappers are of middle-eastern descent and are part of an Egyptian gang. They learn that Christine is Mac's girlfriend and make some adjustments to the plan to string Mac along and separate him from his people. A connection with a dry-cleaners and a protection extortion ring for businesses in the "Little Egypt" Neighborhood. After a long day of playing cat and mouse with the kidnappers, who are behind the extortion ring, Mac solves the case, gets the crooks and gets his girl back.

All in all these two episodes were very good. The original CSI has improved with the switching out Fishburne and bringing Danson in. I had my doubts at first but he makes a fine addition to the series. I give this x-over 4 out of 5 stars.

CD Update: January 2013

CD UPDATE: JANUARY 2013

For the month of January I got one lone CD, it had been a while since I've gotten one. Anyway this one is the latest one by Pink "The Truth About Love" I got at Target. I got the Deluxe Edition that has 4 bonus tracks, there is also supposedly a "Fan Edition" that has a DVD and even more bonus tracks I'd like to try to find that one.

The first single released from this album was Blow Me (One Last Kiss). I've seen the video for it and there are two versions of the video one in color and one in black and white but with some colorized red near the end.

I think I agree with those who have said that this is P!nk's Best album yet. As with the last few Pink albums there is a Regular Version, a frCensoreding Version (since she has a tendency to record songs with some filthy words you can't say on radio), a Deluxe Version and a Version with a DVD. The DVD version is usually the Deluxe Version not so in this case the DVD Version I think is what they call the "Fan Edition". The confusing thing is all the covers usually look alike, but have subtle differences.

This is the regular version of the CD.

This is the Deluxe Edition of the CD (the version I picked up).
This Deluxe Edition has four extra songs. I like the extra songs but I don't know if I really needed them. Well YES I guess I did. When I get a regular version of a disc that also has a version with some bonus stuff I feel I missed out if I didn't get the one with the bonuses.

That reminds me I really should pick up the bonus filled edition of Her Greatest Hits.. So Far CD. I stupidly got the regular version, because 1) I had forgotten there were two versions, and 2) Target didn't have the bonus version at the time I picked up my copy. A few weeks/months later of course they had the bonus version.

Word Verification Fun 001

image via majorityoftwo.blogspot.com
Many of you that follow blogs will know that some of them allow for readers comments to be made, but before the comments are published the bloggers/owners need to prove the comments are coming from legitimate readers instead of some spambot. They (the big mighty internet Powers That Be) have a "word verification" thing where you type in the exact characters you see. Some years back I made a couple of posts of some occasional words I was asked to enter to verify I was not a robot. I had also mentioned that a blogger (Spankee) at another blog (My Cardboard Mistress) occasionally would post the weird words he was requested to enter in. Google at one time had a specific name for this verification process but I forget what it was.  Ah I found it via Google Search (Convenient ain't it?) recaptcha, oh wait that was the early version of it when the words were in a grid, now the words are just in strange fonts and bunched together. Maybe they still call it that. I don't know and don't really care THAT much.

Now-a-days Google/Yahoo/Blogger has you type the fictional word AND some numbers from a picture of numbers which sometimes is next to impossible to make out the numbers. Anyway one of my more recent words/numbers were:

41222 glopolu

(or was that a "V" at the end? Hmmm I think it was a "U" not 100% sure now)

The word "glopolu" is the base mixture of ingredients that make up the Hawaiian "delicacy" poi.
image via http://www.hawaiimagazine.com
It is the glop that is the main paste.

When I was a kid of about 7 I went to Hawaii with my Mom, one of my Brothers and my Mom's Godmother. We went on some kind of family two week package. I didn't like poi then, haven't had it since but I don't think I'd like it. I hear it is an acquired taste..

I like this Poi better:
